Officiating clinics - September 2026

🏒🚨 Are you the one calling penalties from the stands, do you know the rules of the game? It's time to step into your skates, make the calls, and keep the game safe and fun for hockey players! 🚨🏒

👉 Do you have a sharp eye, a voice that carries, and nerves of steel?
👉 Are you a confident skater, both backwards and forwards?

We're looking for young adults with that can keep up with the flow on the ice and a passion for the game.  Join us in shaping the future of hockey officiating! We are working hard to rebuild our numbers in the ref pool.

RETURNING OFFICIALS CLINICS

2026-27 Re-Certification Updates and Reminders

• Officials who will be 15-year-old as of December 31, 2026, default to Level 2;

• Officials NOT registered for the 2026-27 season as a player or team official must purchase the mandatory Participant Assessment Fee (PAF), by adding it to their payment during checkout process for your on-line course registration;

• All officials complete their mandatory annual re-certification in two (2) phases.
Phase 1: Complete online pre-requisite

Step 1: Criminal Record Check (CRC) *Only required for all officials 18 years or older

Check your CRC status by logging into your SPORDLE account. If you require a new CRC, complete this online submission process.

Step 2: Online Re-certification pre-requisite course & exam
Approximate time: 2 hours

Complete the course applicable to your 2026-27 certification, prior to registration for in-person clinic. Click the applicable Level below to link to the appropriate online pre-requisite course.
Phase 2: Attend in-person Clinic

• Attend an in-person clinic
• Approximate time: 2.5 hours

Officials register for and attend an in-person clinic to complete their certification. Clinics available for registration will be posted HERE. Please note, clinics occur between September 1 to November 30 and will begin being posted in mid-August.

Hockey Canada Rules: Section 11 - Maltreatment

Officials Injury Report - If an official is injured while officiating a sanctioned (PRMHA/BC Hockey) game, the Hockey Canada Injury Report form should be completed and sent to the BC Hockey Office within 90 days of the date of the game.
